1999 Dodge Dakota - found on Dakota message forum

I've a 99 5.2 cc 4x4 70,000, And 100% AMSOIL SYNTHETICS, engine, tran, rearends, transfer case, and all grease points. I've been using these for 30 years in every thing I've had/have right down to the the lawn mower. There are many well advertised benefits about synthetics, fuel milage, extended engine life, etc. First of all I'm speaking on Amsoil, I have researched synthetics extensively. Independent studies have shown that AMSOIL on wear test was better than the number 2 synthetic Mobil 1 (I'M NOT A DEALER GUYS). But their are other benifits that are much more important I feel synthetics conduct heat better than regular oil, and their for cooler engine, the differance in temps between the heads and short block are less of a spread because this oil conducts heat better. I should have said cooler heads, and we all know heat distroys! ESPECIALLY TRANNIES !! In the summer 2001 AMSOIL came out with fluid formulated for DAKOTA/RAM trannies. When my truck had about 25000 miles on it lock/up on the tourqe converter started bumping in and out on the level and even throttle, even downhill, this bothered the heck out of me. Well, I took it to 2 dealers and they said they could not find anything wrong. This continued along with (like many cars/trucks) having cruise on out in the hilly country side and constant shifting down & up, down & up. I put up with this for a while then about 38000 I went to a respected tranny shop (out of warranty) and he said the same thing, could'nt find anything wrong! AMSOIL told me (factory rep) that had formulated fluid for truck, I completely changed all of the tranny fluid to AMSOIL. I was amazed of the change in preformance No more lock/up bumping in & out, and cruise on uphillgrade if it shifts down it stays their until the grade changes. Also it has better viscosity and it shifts much stronger and I can feel the differance in transfer of power to the rear wheels. I was going to say that it feels like more HP, Well it is... more power gets to the rear wheels!! Also us cold weather people (I'm in MN) synthetic does not get thicker with lower temps, and I don't know how many of us realize running cold regular oils (30 degrees or less) down the road with out a good warming first, how hard this is on Tran/engine. AMSOIL stays much more fluid. This should explain AMSOIL well. You can't break a motor in with this oil. It would probaly take 50,000 miles or more! I have sugestions for any one that wants to switch. If you want a cooler, stronger, longer living DAKOTA! DAKORED 70,000 & going Stronger, I hope this fits on a Page, thier are just so many PLUSES.
