- The two
small black rods at the top are the new Random Technology lower control
arms with polyeurothane bushings. These replace the stamped steel factory
lower control arms. They attach to the axle and connect to the body
of the car. They sort of act like traction bars to reduce wheel hop
during a hard acceleration.
- The long
black rod with the little red bushing (attaches to transmission) is
a Random Technology adjustable torque arm. This keeps the axle from
twisting too much. Once installed, you adjust it to a few degrees negative.
Then under full throttle, the axle and drive shaft align up at a 0 degrees
angle for maximum power and much better traction. On the 1/4 mile track,
this helps out your 0-60 foot times tremendously.
- The red
rod is a non-adjustable panhard rod. I put this one to replace the factory
stamped steel one. When I would get on the freeway entrance ramp I would
notice that the car would sometimes fishtail at 6,000 RPM in 3rd gear.
This new panhard rod helps reduce the axle from shifting from side to
side.
- This is
the stock aluminum drive shaft. It was pulled out while we installed
the 4.10 ring and pinion. I put all of these parts out on display so
visitors of this site can see what they look like
These upgraded
suspension parts help a lot during acceleration. I even noticed a difference
when the roads are wet. Now the tires don't spin so much as they did when
it rains. All in all, having these parts installed not only helps your
car run quicker, it makes it run a lot safer over all.
